A quick and dirty summary of everything the party encountered.

One for the money

Angerone Godfroy, Eldron Gnackle, Jhalril Glannyth, Richar Moerin, and Teresa Liliidae meet for the first time at the Dig and get to know "Red".

In the night after the events at The Dig, Angy suddenly has a voice in her head, offering her magical powers; she becomes a warlock, maybe the first ever seen.

The trek through the wilderness back to civilisation turns out to be relatively easy due to Teresa being an outlander druid. A partially destroyed building turns out to hold quite a few useful supplies and a Flawless Hand Mirror. The party comes across a burial mound which they leave be and then across a former Companions fort which turns out to be filled with "restless" (undead). When they eventually find safety in a fortified farmstead a travelling merchant shows up with equipment for all of them, paid for by someone in Korint.

Returned to Korint. Learned about a new god that has appeared; Istus. Debriefed by House Ditta.

Bought treasure map of Vresto Mansion from Velkor Oberlee. When leaving the city they were captured by a party unknown and tortured for information on The Dig before being let go.

Two for the show

Encountered Myconids when gathering Sprite members, 'gifted' Blemmigan.

Came across Julian Jaconti on the way to Drendeven village.

Back in Korint, do some research into Istus and the Caluth Widows. Jhalril Glannyth is asked by the leader of the Whitemantles to rob correspondence from a House Ditta caravan.

Off to Vessa village to search for missing villagers. Next, following Mysterious Letter to Kobold Cave, meeting Julian along the way again.

On the way back to Korint met a House Ditta caravan containing captured Whitemantles members.

Took on a job at Thessaly Hall involving a stolen necklace and missing daughter.

Learned that Bruised But Not Broken company (one hundred men and women strong) sent by House Ditta did not return from The Dig.

Some tussles with glow ice (a very addictive narcotic) smugglers/dealers from Sormark. Jhalril Glannyth decides this kind of adventuring isn't for him.

Sent by Vardan Brekker to what turns out to be the Fallen Star, meeting Ranna Amethystall along the way. Other interested parties show up; Abjura Dolana and Velkor Oberlee. Meet Kasarians and Marinda Winterwies when coming back outside. The party leaves with a magical orb, a new amulet for Eldron, and a magical stone for Teresa.

Back in Korint, Angerone gets the idea to steal the Tome of Ammon from the Kasarian Embassy in Korint. Which leads to the party having the leave the city, and country, post haste as pissing off the Kasarians is close to suicide.

Marinda is asked to join the party, and before she leaves, Vardan gives her a spindle and a way to keep in touch. Richar is given the Straps of Beoga by his mentor.

Three to make ready

At Aslu, the border town between Loveria and Sormark they are recognised by bounty hunters and run for their lives into the interior of the country.

The town of Bjarnheim is almost out of food but luckily Teresa has a magical stone. Then they encounter a camp with people who speak rather archaically, the next morning the camp is gone.

In the hills they came across the wreck of the Brazen Coke Remit and fought with its restless (undead) crew.

Arriving in Jurva, they learn more about a new god called Ancev and help a baker find his beloved Scoby, which has now transformed into Usnea.

The party arrives in Hollenvik, the town they have the deed to, and it turns out things aren't in great shape here. They fix what they can and leave Richar Moerin there to help out, for now.

Next they go to the Udvjor Gardyl (spotting Julian on the way, making sure not to wake him) and meet a strange clockwork creature before they trigger a trap and are transported to Ipanema. The short visit has a very positive effect on their physical and mental fortitude.

Stjordvik

Via the Portal Hub they end up in Stjordvik, in the baron's throne room, no less.

The party members take rooms at the Placeholder Inn look for training around town and find different opportunities.

Teresa is incredibly lucky and loses but still kinda wins "The Wheel of Death" at a local drinkery.

Angerone takes dance lessons at The Pearl. There's a few jobs to do in payment, starting with removing Nander Yarryn, a newly minted member of the Order of Saint Rabban, from the premises.

Marinda finds her training at Relatus Playhouse and managed to lower the fee to 100 gp by offering her weaving skills.

Eldron arranges for training at Abjura Dolana and in payment he has to use a wand on a job the baron has for them as a 'fine' for 'invading' his fort.

Fab Four

The party is lowered into the Fort Gunnlaeif Dungeon and meets Tizoc who is bound to an altar, powering certain magical defenses.

On return they learn that the harbor master, Trygve Nesheim, was assassinated and then replaced with Lena Hjelle.

Angy is offered a job by the cultural attaché from the Ogren embassy but declines.

At the Pearl Angy and Marinda meet two old friends from their past; Jaqcues d’Ogren and Margreet Ploeg.

Another job for The Pearl; escorting Mairuu Thiodor to a hunting lodge, The Jackalope, owned by Thal Lithel boss Respen Faerondyl, outside of town. Turns out she's meeting the baron.

Marinda goes to the Ancev temple to introduce herself and get to know them.

During the night, two giant ice snakes suddenly appear in the room shared by Angy and Eldron, they attack but are swiftly killed and then skinned.

Abjura Dolana offers a job in lieu of payment for licenses; go to the village of Drømmen and take care of a monster that has been plaguing them, likely an Ethereal Filcher. The monster steals a few of their items but is eventually defeated.

On the way back the party happens upon a caravan of Vergu orcs accompanied by a handful of elves (Thal Sivale employees, including some family of Tasmia Ealoeth) just as it is attacked by gnolls and manticores. 42 is part of the caravan.

Eldron is approached by Shymra Hykoshold, a former colleague of his son Brandon. She tells him there were things going on at the Companions that could not be countenanced; a number of people were transferred and fired over it. Party talks with the city watch captain about this and talks to a few of the fired people to see what happened.

At Angy and Eldron's room at the inn a note has been slipped under the door, telling them to meet at the docks at night. Once there Angy is pushed into the river by a spell and a number of crocodiles attack.

Regatta

Angerone is asked by her patron to compete in the Regatta. Eldron runs across his old friend Merric Glenoak.

It turns out the Companions of Elric were smuggling books into town for the Ogren embassy. These were then shipped to Ogren by Strebor's Corsairs.

Eldron's son Brandon boarded the ship the Honeysuckle which sailed to GICOM and then Avale. The ship sank years later with all hands lost.

The 15th Stjordvik Regatta takes place and is eventually (and surprisingly) won by the party and their ship.

Maybe it was because of what happened during the Regatta, maybe there's a different reason, but Angerone and Marinda decide to follow their own path and make their goodbyes with Eldron and Teresa.

Some time later Margreet Ploeg sends a message; Jazzomyn, still hasn't returned and The Pearl would like the party to go look for her.

Take Five

Knowing that a two-people party might be a little underpowered, the two look for new members and are lucky to come across two other adventurers;

Maybell Tuberosum and Tiny Tim Cratchett.

The party have been told that Jazzomyn went looking for something along the old Imperial Way that used to run south from Resoborg so that's their first stop. Here they meet Lars Gerhardt and everything is fine.

Imperial Wayhouse

The next day the party sets off down the now overgrown Imperial Way. They spend the next nights in the Imperial Wayhouses built along the road, most are still in pretty good repair. At the third Imperial Wayhouse strange things happen and they are suddenly shrunk down to 1/50th of their normal size.

On their way back from Resoborg to Stjordvik the party has set up for the night when suddenly Sprinkles and two dogs run into camp. They follow them to find three small kittens being fussed over by two geese. Maybell notices a wing shaped pattern on their fur that only she can see. Using a speak with animal spells she learns that the kittens (Henri, Christina, and Hector) live in a large mansion in a town but woke up near this farm this morning.

They take these faeristocats with them to Stjordvik and try and find out which of the rich, old, single ladies in town might be their owner. There are some unexplained encounters with tiny stealing hands coming out of nowhere and suddenly greasy surfaces but eventually they are reunited with their owner; Hertiginna, a once famous singer. The butler who kidnapped the kittens makes a quick exit. The party is rewared with small silver mask shaped charms in the style of the one worn in the famous opera The Hertiginna’s Sacrifice. And Sprinkles can now cast a one-use spell.

Some time later the party runs across Velkor Oberlee who hires them for a job.

Six Silver Strings

Nolla Isle

Teresa decides to remain in town to deal with what happend at the Wayhouse and meditate on her life. Fortunately the party come across Bruneor Argent at Silverwick Ward and when he hears about their plans he offers his services. Velkor has arranged for a boat to transport them to Nolla Isle and pick them up again in seven days or in later weeks, if necessary. When the captain of the boat finds out where he is supposed to sail he balks but some surreptitious spellcasting and intimidation by Velkor, not to mention the expensive gem he is offering persuade the captain to take them.

Magnificent Seven

After a successful exploration on Nolla Isle the party returns to Stjordvik. The island collapsed and sunk under the sea as they sailed away, so there's that... After dividing the loot, Velkor donates the Keoghtom's Ointment to Silverwick Ward and give the Kammi to the party; he doesn't want to go soft.

Back in town they learned of a few things that happened in their absence. A warehouse belonging to Thal Sivale was broken into but they were unwilling to comment what, if anything, had been stolen. A Battle of the Bards turned into a brawl that caused more than severe property damage; two of the culprits are now being sought by Abjura Dolana. Someone killed five people in five days but thanks to the work of a brilliant investigator of the city watch she was caught and hanged the same day. Now the rumor is her corpse has gone missing.

Teresa is nowhere to be found though they learn that she apparently spends her afternoons outside the city, after helping out at Silverwick Ward in the morning. She doesn't come back that night so the next morning the others start looking for her. They learned she is publishing a book of poetry and after first visiting a really seedy publisher at the docks they eventually find the the right place; Pressing Matters. Back at Silverwick Ward they learn that Teresa spoke of going to Koss Field.

Once there they find no sign of her but do help out a halfling farmer recovering a who bull crashed through the fence and escaped. Beyond the field is Moll Woods and they find tracks on the small trail that goes into the forest. Following them they are ambushed by the restless; an undead lady and a number of zombie forest creatures. The woman is quite likely the hanged murderer, considering the purple bruise all around her neck.

The party wins and then decide to burn the corpses. Unfortunately the fire gets out of hand real quick and they run deeper into the woods. With about a third of the forest ablaze they eventually slow down in a wetter part of the woods. There they spot a really strange looking small frog and decide to follow it. It leads them to a small clearing with a large, old tree. From an opening under the tree a badger darts out and then turns into Teresa.

HMS Karnak

Back in town Tiny goes to tell the watch about their encounter and Eldron visits Abjura Dolana to let them see the notes he found on Nolla Isle. Then the party starts making plans to go to Haza to deliver Red's box to his sister.

The party is offered free passage on the HMS Karnak and after a few days one of the passengers is murdered. The characters eventually manage to solve the crime and from then on they have a very relaxing journey to Beljovac in Haza.

Beljovac

When leaving the ship it turns out that arcane spellcasters entering Haza must either pay 5 gp and swear fealty to the royal house meaning they can be ordered to help out by guardsmen or other government officials, or pay 500 gp and not have to. Eldron and Maybell pay 5 gp each.

Once in Beljovac Eldron goes to the local lodge of Abjura Dolana to deliver a letter from Leandro Minardi; it turns out he is actually Zelgos Gossyl; second in command at Kasarian Embassy in Stjordvik. He fled when he learned of a ship with a dead magic zone and now he hopes Abjura Dolana can help him.

The party takes rooms at the Guzanic Bull. Food in town is really good and they have this thing called coffee that is quite the acquired taste.

The next day things start with a bang when they walk near the Tepanic Expediting Warehouse but fortunately they survive the ordeal.

The party then goes to Dobrodruh Guild Hall to find some work. As they walk up to the place they are met by a woman who introduces herself as Temna and tells them her employers have a job they might be interested in; bringing a 'package' to the town of Maruzla. It turns out that the town is sort of in the direction of Ide Volcar and the job pays 25 gp per person.

They accept and Tiny makes sure the contract is up to snuff. It turns out the package is a large leaden box, about coffin-sized. It comes with a cart and horses. Temna tells them to leave tomorrow morning at the latest or it won't arrive on time.

Back at the inn they are visited by the nobleman from the warehouse, Fessel Katar, and his wife Orgula. He pays them a 1,000 gp and thanks them for all their help. When asked Orgula explains that the warehouse was owned by Tepanic Expediting and that her company rented storage there for shipping out their merchandise.

The next morning the party gets up before day and dew (:p). The innkeeper hands them a small box that contains a note and four gems worth 100 gp each. The note says: "thank you for your services". When asked, the innkeeper tells them that the box was delivered the day the party arrived and he was asked to hand them the box when they left. Based on the description he gives, it looks like it was Neb Jabituya who gave him the box.

To Maruzla

The journey to Maruzla is pretty boring at first though they do meet a man called Hugh Ratio or Old Shoe. He's quite the character and he gives them some information on the road ahead. They are going to a poorer part of the country and one day they come across a tree trunk laying across the road and a voice informing them that ten arrows are trained on them. Eldron casts a fireball into the brushwood where the voice seems to be coming from. Curses come from the other direction and there's sound of people running away. Once the fire has subsided two corpses are found, the poor highwaymen don't carry much more than about a gold piece between them.

Things get a lot more serious when a little later during the journey the party spends the night at a farmstead and Kasarians show up. There are at least four of them and have used a spell to animate the cart, showing their magical prowess is not to be underestimated. When their leader answers a question by Tiny, saying that their matters are always a matter of state, Tiny has no qualms about giving up their cargo. The Kasarians leave with the cart and the lead box but the party takes no chances and patrols the building for the rest of the night.

Arriving in Maruzla the party looks for the building they were supposed to deliver the package to but they can't find it, nor can they find a man fitting the description Temna gave them. Having done due diligence they shrug their shoulders and continue their journey to Ide Volcar.

Ide Volcar

When they get to their destination it turns out that all the inns are filled beyond capacity because the next day will be the start of The Feast of Masks. They are approached by three different people all trying to get hired as a guide, maybe not a necessity but the city is something of a maze and will be hard to navigate during the festival.

[Burlap, Bakers' Alley, and the Righteous PrinciPals with thanks to Dale Friesen.]

From among the guides they decide on a person that looks like a short individual that put a large box (80 x 80 x 80 cm) over their own head, with arms coming out of the side of the box, and then put a burlap sack over it and painted a face on one of the sides. The rest of their body is also covered in burlap clothing with the sleeves being much too long. It has child's shoes on its feet and stands about 1.5m high. Burlap offers its services for 2 gp per day but then sees Eldron's Tompion Amulet and changes their offer to 1 gp per day.

When asked where they can find a place to stay in the city, Burlap mentions Bakers' Alley but also says that's a dangerous place they shouldn't go, there's a baked goods war going on. "Lead on to Bakers' Alley," is the immediate response.

The alley turns out to be a cul-de-sac with three bakeries on either side of it and a wall at the far end. Going from left to right the following shops can be found here: Flour Tower, Original Throwics, Prime Dough, The Real Throwics, Tempting Tarts, and The One True Throwics.

The party goes to Flour Tower firsts and learns about the war; three dwarven bakeries are run by Throwic Crocsmith's descendants and they are at odds about how to make crocs (a sweet, light cake). They order some black currant tarts and have a nice tea courtesy of their Alchemy Jug.

Once outside again they see a sign in Tempting Tarts' window: "Bakery for sale, -100 gold. Yes, this means I give you 100 gold". Of course they immediately check it out and after a long conversation with the old man that runs the place (and sells nothing but uneven looking loaves of bread) they find out the place is haunted. It seems the ghost wants the owner, whoever that may be, to bake three dozen loaves of bread every day. A number that might look doable, but if you are not a skilled baker then it will take you an entire day. If you have not baked the required number of loaves, the ghost ages you a year every night. It turns out the current owner is actually 27.

After some negotiating Tiny buys the bakery with a contract stipulating he can sell it back in a week's time. He bakes one loaf shy of the required number today. Upstairs is enough room for the entire party to sleep comfortably but Tiny is woken by the ghost (no one else can see it). Fortunately Maybell knows stories about ghosts and told everyone that to bring ghosts to their final rest they usually have some kind of unfinished business that needs to be resolved.

Tiny has a conversation with the spectral lady floating in his room and learns that she is, or was, a human woman named Verasta. And she used to bake loaves that were then used by people in the employ of a crime lord called Malxaxa (pronounced Malshaksa) to hide messages in. Considering the crime lord threatened her life she still wants loaves to be baked and since Tiny did one less than required she ages him a year.

The next morning Burlap confirms the fact that Verasta used to own the bakery and that she went missing and eventually her body was found burned when she went to get wood for the oven. Burlap also confirms that Malxaxa is the local kingpin and suggests not getting tangled up with him.

The Feast of Masks

The The Feast of Masks has started and Burlap has a piece of parchment with a face painted on it tied over the painted on face on the burlap. On Burlap's advice they go to a store to buy masks for all party members. This is what they buy; Maybell – Cat, Tiny – Bear, Eldron – Bear, Teresa - The Smiling Demon. They aren't aware of how the feast works so the store owner explains what each mask represents and what they are supposed to do.

As they leave the shop a woman wearing an owl mask approaches Eldron and hands him a small, wax candle and a note. Without saying a word, she walks on. When Eldron opens the note, it reads: “I looked through the window and saw my neighbor watering down his spirits.”

When returning to Bakers' Alley they are approached by the owner of Prime Dough, Opal, comes out and asks for help with a problem; some kind of monster comes out of the sewer at night. A large racket can be heard coming from the second floor of Flour Tower and when Maybell and Eldron investigate they find a rather large man, Mar, in a room full of paintings of him killing people and creatures, red paint is used in abundance. He claims he paints scenes to visualize how he'll kill the 'demons' that he is after. He asks them to go get some more paint and pays in holy symbols which he grabs from a chest full of them.

Tiny comes up with a plan to hire help at one of the neighboring bakeries with the proviso they can use the oven for their own production after 36 loaves of bread have been baked. At the same time the baker's assistant can teach Tiny more about the craft, as he found he likes it quite a bit. Then the party sets off to the Green Guard HQ to try and find out more about Malxaxa. Lieutenant Verum there tells them the rank and file know nothing about the crime lord but gives them the names and rackets of some of his lieutenants who might be able to arrange a meeting.

The first stop is The Roaring Dog, a rather shabby tavern in the undercity. Here they learn the current location of one of the lieutenants; The Lonely Star, an upscale inn. They find the man there, in the company of what turns out to be another lieutenant. They manage to convince them there really is a ghost with a problem and Tiny giving the man his Coin of Life and Death is the clincher. He tells them the other man can help them further. This turns out to be Sumac and he tells them he runs a fight club in 'The Pit' and he can use a good fighter like Tiny. He will send someone in a day or two when he's ready.

In the evening they go to a tavern called The Cellar where people can go up on a stage and tell jokes. “I visited this alchemist friend of mine who got burgled last night. I kept heckling him about his loss. He had no retort.” Also at the tavern is a famous bounty hunter; Chrysanthemum. She is close to seven feet tall and her body, that’s rippling with muscles, is completely covered in short, red hair. Except, that is, for her most striking feature; her head looks like an abstract head of a dog carved out of the blackest obsidian. Loads of people are surrounding her table, fawning over her, eager to hear her stories.

The next morning, ballistae have been placed in front of the dwarven bakeries, pointing at one and other. They are pulled back inside before opening hours. Maybell delivers some pastel paints she bought to Mar. She learns that he is in the process of finishing a painting that shows him killing the owner of the bakery, Husac. She and Teresa also ask about his previous kills and he shows them a painting of the most recent one; a man missing a few fingers being disemboweled by him, right in Bakers' Alley. According to Mar the man was called Nico or something but when asking around the bakeries and checking with the local Green Guard patrol, no body was ever found and no one has gone missing.

A richly dressed man wearing a triple tier crown mask walks up to Maybell and hands her a silver ring set with a sardonyx gem (opaque bands of red and white) and an envelope. He nods and moves on. Inside the envelope is a short note that reads: “All my friends, in as much as I really have any, think I killed my wives to inherit their money. I did not, I loved each one with all my heart. But at this point there no longer is a way to change their minds.”

The party has seen a parade with a large paper-mâché dragon go through town to promote the carnival in Irati Park and they decide to visit. Once there they enjoy some of the fun games and good food. They also have their fortune told by a woman dressed in many layered clothes. In the evening a very shifty looking man who introduces himself as Artie brings by a large bag of costumes for Tiny to pick something from for the fights at the Pit later this week. He asks for a 10 gp security deposit for the garments and then leaves, telling him he'll be back to collect him on fight night.

Easy Eight

On the morning of the third day of the feast the party set off for Kucica za Lutke, Emese Meloi's mansion. After, sort of, explaining what they are there for they are brought inside to meet with the Grandmistress of the court; baroness (baronica) Stana. She's tall, has shoulder-length brown hair, hazel eyes, and sensible, well-tailored clothing, and not much jewelry. She might shop where vikontica Marie van Schuyler used to shop. The grofica's calendar is quite busy, with the feast and all but they get an appointment a few days from now.

When walking down the street a girl wearing a self-made bear mask runs up to Tiny, shoves an old wooden doll and a piece of paper into his hands and then runs off, disappearing down the nearest alley. The handwriting on the note is quite bad but you think you can make out what it says: “When I’m alone, I put food out so dogs come and I kick them when they come near me.”

Dolly's

Partly due to Tiny's new interest in everything cooking and food related they then decide to visit the The Silver Tree Market in the undercity.

Before you lies a vast indoor market, caught in the lantern light shining through a roof of green glass. Butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers, bakers. The smell is extraordinary. In the centre of the market, incongruous and unapologetic, stands what seems to be a large, fruiting apple tree.

Burlap suddenly holds still. “Look, there, it’s the Illustrious Chef. They say he’s the best chef in the country, at the very least.” What you see is rather incongruous, a 7’ tall creature with thick, grey skin, huge ears, a trunk, tusks, and a large white moustache. He carries a basket and examines the wares of a grimy vegetable stall, squeezed between two larger sellers.

"I say!" he says. "I say. Would you take a look at this? Would you credit it?"

You follow his gaze up to the vegetable hawker, a halfling girl with purple eyes, who grins awkwardly. She holds a small bag filled with cherries.

A short conversation later Tiny and the others are invited to dine at Dolly's that evening, the Illustrious Chef's restaurant and one of the most prestigious in town.

The evening turns out to be more than memorable. When trying one of the cherries the Illustrious Chef is completely paralyzed and the sous-chef turns into a talking skunk. And wouldn't you know it, tonight the restaurant has a very special guest; the Tiger. And you do not dissapoint the Tiger. The party offers their help and the sous-skunk decides four courses, instead of the planned fourteen, is probably going to be difficult enough. Together it is decided to go all out for some more difficult dishes, should it succeed they will have produced a meal just about worthy of the restaurant.

Teresa and Tiny help out in the kitchen while Eldron and Maybell go to the The Silver Tree Market to buy some very special ingredients. They also go to the stall where the cherries were bought. It is no longer there but when Maybell comes close she hears: "Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there! He wasn't there again today, Oh how I wish he'd go away!"

In the end the starter turned out to be a horrendous failure but not quite bad enough to make all the guests leave in disgust. The other three courses incredulously, against all odds, turn out great, saving the night, even the Tiger is pleased with the offerings. When all the guests have left and the kitchen crew is slowly recovering from the ordeal the spells on the Illustrious Chef and the sous-skunk end. Unfortunately they absorbed the dispel magic spells cast on them earlier and that energy hits the bag of cherries which then hits Eldron and Maybell, taking a part of their very essence. Eldron loses his appreciation of fine craftsmanship and Maybell her innocence.

The hour is very late and the party decides to call it a night and return to Bakers' Alley to sleep before investigating their new problems next day. They have to wind their way to their bakery as the alley is filled with ballistae and dwarves in armor, brandishing weapons.

The next morning there is somewhat of a crowd in the alley, guardsmen walk in and out of the Flour Tower. It turns out that the owner, Husac, has been killed and his non-paying tenant, Mar, is nowhere to be found.

There is little to be done about that so the party decides to go investigate the grimy vegetable stall where the cherries were bought.

A man in a leather apron and wearing a skull mask steps up to Teresa and hands her a small but beautifully crafted marble statuette of a woman and a note. He smiles widely at her from under his mask and then walks off, whistling a merry tune. When you open the note, you see the following message: “Everyone agrees, my love appendage is the biggest in the entire city.”

After talking to some people they eventually end up in a warehouse holding the meager belongings of the halfling girl who apparently ran out on her landlord. Among the possessions is a small mirror in an iron frame. When looking at the mirror it does not show a reflection but rather a landscape showing a jungle but all the colors are off and in the sky hangs a large orange disc.

The party takes the mirror and returns to the bakery, placing the mirror in a strategic spot before deciding what to do next. As it happens, this is when Artie returns and tells Tiny that his fights will be tonight. Tiny assembles a cool outfit and then the party is off to the Pit for another interesting evening.

When returning that evening, even later than the night before, there are even more dwarves with weapons and the bakeries now have large iron screens in front of them.

It's really early in the morning when Artie arrives at the bakery and is let upstairs by the dwarven baker's assistant. It takes a lot of knocking but eventually Eldron wakes up to open the door to him.

The next day is the last day of the Feast of Masks.

Later that day:

An athletic woman wearing a fox mask and a velour outfit darts out of the crowd and pushes a rusted iron coin and a many times folded note into the nearest hand. She is long gone by the time the note is unfolded. The text within reads: “I’ve behaved quite inappropriately to everyone who came to interview for the lead singer position, I realize that now.”
