The country is bordered by Jucatta to the west, the Neniros river to the north, and the Sarodin Sea to the east. It is known for its vast, unexplored jungles and rich resources.

Government

There is not much of a central government, which left the door open to foreign nations, Dolac first among them, to gain a lot of influence. As they say; "money talks".

Six different tribes (though their term is closer to "families) each run their part of the country and every six years one of them is appointed by a set rotation to be the "First" and technically in charge of all of Neniros.

Magic

Arcane magic is not too common here though each of the tribes has at least one shaman of not insignificant skill.

Religion

The Nenirosians are very pragmatic when it comes to the gods; praying to whichever god seems most appropriate at the time. This goes so far that in some cases priests worship more than one god and seem to be granted power by each.

Nerull has had a strong foothold here since the Collapse and has been hard to eradicate. Ancev has been quite popular ever since their arrival and their followers are growing fast.

Geography

Most of the country is one enormous jungle and there are few maps or well explored stretches. A few towns are dotted around the country but none are very large and most have to fight against the encroachment of the rainforest.

Many snakewood trees, also called leopardwood, grow here and are highly prized lumber for export. The Binabode range, the boundary to Jucatta, while not the highest of mountains, are very hard to cross due to their jagged profile.

Two large rivers flow west to east and empty into the Sarodin Sea; the Neniros and the Inatil. These and the smaller rivers are the main mode of transport. Roads are almost non-existent, a few trails lead from the mines to Nenas but these overgrow so quickly that every caravan has to cut its way through.

Amisakisak

A near-vertical plane of rock extending upward from the Binabode mountains. It rises out of relatively low land, giving it a steep, pointed profile which makes it a particularly striking peak. Its double summit resembles the tail of a fish, hence the name meaning "fish's tail" in the local dialect. Some believe the entire peak is covered in diamonds but if this was the case then some enterprising wizard would have confirmed this by now.

Inatil Falls

The Inatil river starts in the Binabode mountains and soon runs very wide, creating a staircase waterfall consisting of a two steps, 35 and 40 meters in height. Though almost impossible to reach, it is a sight to behold, water cascading down 270 degrees around, rainbows appearing all over. Legend has it that a deity of a previous era planned to marry a beautiful woman, who fled with her mortal lover in a canoe. In a rage, the deity sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall.

Ecology

Sea fishing was almost non-existent till the arrival of the Dolacs but now many fish are brought in, and some even exported. Croakers, drums, weakfish, and bangamary are the most prevalent. Sea catfish, snappers, and kingfish are also quite common, as is shrimp which has become a staple food along the coast.

Said coast is almost completely mangrove forests, mammals found here include raccoons, manatees, and monkeys. Caiman, snakes, and sea turtles are seen in large quantities. Many species of finch, flamingos, heron, ibis and parrot also make their home here.

The jungles are full of all kinds of creatures. Mammals include many species of monkey, anteaters, tapirs, sloths, and peccaries. The jaguar is the top predator, other cats include the ocelot and the margay. Large snakes like the anaconda and boa constrictor live in these forests, as well as a variety of venomous species like the bushmaster. There's a high diversity of amphibians, including the brightly colored and highly toxic blue poison dart frog and the unique Neniros toad.

Many cotingas make their home in the jungle, including the cock-of-the-rock. Parrots and macaws are everywhere, as are toucans, tinamous, and various hummingbirds. The harpy eagle, one of the largest eagles in the world, is the top raptor. Many other species of eagle, hawk, kite, and vulture can be found. The bat falcon hunts bats at dusk.

The rivers contain giant otters, caiman, anacondas, and hippopotamuses, by far the biggest danger. The most abundant fish are cichlid, neon tetra, catfish, stingrays, and the river cougar, a voracious fish with a dangerous bite. In the estuaries freshwater dolphin and manatees are found.

Monsters

The jungle is full of enough mundane hazards but certain monsters dwell here in large numbers. Fey are much more numerous than in most countries, likely due to so little of the terrain being despoiled by man, for now. The most likely to be encountered are blink dogs, pixies, and sprites, but much more dangerous fey are present as well.

The Restless (undead) are quite rare, the locals treat their dead with respect and are quick to respond to any problems. Blights filled that niche and shambling mounds are also encountered frequently here. Another common encounter is the troll; away from civilization they have little to fear and plenty of food all around.

It is said that near the Binabode mountains live hundreds, or even more, treants. Finding anyone with first hand proof of this seems impossible. The same can be said for the story that there is a yuan-ti city the size of Midtal hidden deep in the jungle. One sighting that has been confirmed numerous times is that of a huge, albino ape, over 7 meters tall.
