A large, salt water, inner sea around which many countries can be found. These include Haza, Vilda, the Reuel Woods, Sormark, Mifora, Dolac, and Neniros.
Fed by many rivers, it empties into the Eastern Ocean via the Copis River which turns brackish not too far from the coast.
Certain sages claim the sea was created during an event comparable to the Collapse (see the Eras page).
It is full of marine life from the very smallest plankton to massive whales and everything in-between.
Many monsters also make it their home, causing most ships to remain close to the coast. Only the biggest Dolac merchant ships cross the sea in a flotilla of at least three ships and with plenty of magical support.
Notable locations
Arpa Islands
Over the centuries several ships have stumbled upon this archipelago of islands but no subsequent expedition ever found it again. According to reports many species of animals not seen anywhere else in the world live here, including large waterfowl that are described as the best thing the sailors ever ate.

Destraumen Maelstrom
This enormous whirlpool, over a hundred miles across according to some, slowly circles the sea, fortunately never coming close to shore. It is said that any ship unlucky enough to be caught in its snares is pulled down to a layer of the Abyss known as the Shadowsea.
Gannet Island
Found north of Avale, this tiny island contains a lighthouse, two piers, and Fort Gannet. In the past the isle functioned as a naval base and held two more piers. These days the fort mostly functions as a prison for those the Dolac government wants far away from the main land.
Hundred Mile Islands
This group of three islands is named thus for the fact that they are found along an imaginary line running from north-northwest to south-southeast almost exactly a hundred miles long. They are found about five hundred miles northeast of Avale. From north to south the three islands are Brovpra, Cluval, and Abrinol.
The three islands have a native population of around four thousand each, who have lived there even before the Collapse. Their culture, which is not found anywhere else, is one of spirit worship and ancestor veneration; everyone wears necklaces, bracelets, and anklets made of shells that signify their connections. A number of centuries ago Dolac built outposts on all three isles to support their (merchant) navy.
Kaleido Reef

Meandering along the coast of much of eastern Sormark, is a chain of many reefs and tiny islands. It is home to an incredible diversity of fauna, from a multitude of species of whales, dolphins, porpoises, turtles, fish, octopi, and snakes to over a hundred species of birds. Local legends say the reef was created when a fallen star flew over and shed its trail.
Said to be haunted and/or cursed. The remains of an old tower can be seen on this small island.
Regilt
A sunken city of old. Once every so often utensils or other items from the city end up in fisher-men's nets.

Salt Lions
Two basalt beasts, cathedral-sized. They frown eternally at each other across the waves. No one knows how long they have been here. The north one carries an encampment; creeping human figures eat away at its features like rot, pick-pick-picking. There's a supply dock below. The stone-cutters are known as the Unmakers, they quarry precious Sphinxstone that is shipped around the sea.
Sarodin Span

These clusters of geometric columns can be found at the very eastern end of the Miforan coast next to the Endless Mire. The columns vary in height, like a pipe organ that got away from itself. The columns closest to the coast disappear into the sea, while others jut out of the ground like basalt palisade walls. Legends claim that these are the start of a dike built towards the two islands to the north, Jeheir and Guheir, and from there to Sormark. Who supposedly built them is unclear, some versions of the story say it was merfolk wizards, others versions hold an ancient sea deity responsible.
Soft Surf Island
This atoll known for its coral rim and beautiful lagoon is located about midway between Brovpra and Haza. Soft sand beaches circle the island and the weather seems to be pleasant here at all times. It is often visited by people from the Hundred Mile Islands and now can be considered to be permanently inhabited, a number of cabins have been constructed.
Styx Sea

The center of the Sarodin Sea is considered to be haunted and those few that survive a journey through it often have no memory of it, hence the name. More than any supernatural dangers, frequent, huge storms are the reason why no sane captains cross the Styx Sea.
The very large island is quite far from everywhere and thus provides a relatively save home to Strebor's Corsairs. The capital, and only city, is Elaine.
