Penrose Amulet

Created when a ball of energy, by turns pale indigo and radiant violet, streaked into Regius’s ornate reliquary; this silver and glass amulet seems twisted into an impossible shape. Lapis lazuli colored energy can be seen streaking past under the glass. Every time it is closely observed it seems different from before.

Created in the Fallen Star and worn by Regius.

While you are wearing the amulet and are attuned to it, it has the following properties.

Borromeo A cleric or paladin can use this item as a spellcasting focus. To use the symbol in this way, the caster must hold it in hand, wear it visibly, or bear it on a shield.

Uccello When you make an attack roll, you can forgo rolling the d20 to get a 10 on the die. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.

Pacioli When you roll for damage, you can forgo rolling the dice and instead have all dice show average results, the first one rounded up, the second rounded down, and so on. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.

Shepard When you take lightning or radiant damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d4 (to a minimum of 0). Keep a running total of all damage negated this way.

Pareidolia The amulet can store a single 1st level spell. A spell cast from the amulet has a save DC of 13 and an attack bonus of +5. You can imbue the amulet with a spell if you're attuned to it and it's empty. To do so, you cast the spell while holding the amulet. The spell is stored in the amulet instead of having any effect. Casting the spell must require 1 action, and the spell's level must be no higher than the amulet’s maximum. If the spell requires material components that are consumed, you must provide them. Once imbued with a spell, the amulet can't be imbued again until the next dawn. The amulet currently contains a Lattice of Frost spell.

Components: V, S, M (a golden thread)

Duration: 1 hour

A protective magical force surrounds you, manifesting as a spectral frost that covers you and your gear. You gain 5 temporary hit points for the duration. If a creature hits you with a melee attack while you have these hit points, the creature takes 5 cold damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, both the temporary hit points and the cold damage increase by 5 for each slot level above 1st.
