The capital of Loveria is home to about 50,000 souls. Officially it is run by a council of 'law keepers' but they are completely in the pocket of the merchant houses. The city is known for its many artists, bon vivants, and junkies, due to the permissive nature of the country.

Korint is famed for its yellow arches that can be found all over the city. These beautifully carved wooden arches are placed in the middle of many streets for purely decorative purposes. Once a year during a special festival all inhabitants paint the arch on their street and then have a feast in the shadow of it.

Locations

Acronon

Home to a large cadre of civil servants who do their utmost to keep the country running. It is said of this old, imposing building that there is not one right angle to be found in it. Though officially (the representatives of) the merchants and remaining nobles are to assemble here regularly to govern the country, in reality, they hardly ever show up for these meetings. Most policy, if one can call it that, is set at lavish dinner parties.

Artists Alley

Don't let the name fool you; this warren of streets and alleyways in the old city is quite sizable and home to all kinds of old masters and hopeful apprentices. The painterly arts are the most favored here but other kinds of art can be found as well.

Myrodia Perfumes

Though the well-to-do in the big cities might not recognize the name, the reality is that if it's an exclusive and expensive perfume, chances are very, very high it comes from here. This bespoke perfumer has been on top of its game for centuries.

Plateia Square

At the center of the old city you'll find a large, daily market bordered by all kinds of eateries and permanent shops selling anything from spices to bric-a-brac. In the middle of the square stands the statue of King Brosef, usually covered in all kinds of unidentifiable substances.

Poledouris Avenue

The main thoroughfare of the city, any business that considers itself of any worth has their shop or offices along this road. It is named for a bard from before the Collapse, Vasilikos Poledouris, who reportedly slew the godling Thcer somewhere around these parts, in a fight that lasted days.

Sly Fox Odds and Ends

Buys and sells anything they can make money on.

Organizations

Bruised But Not Broken

It's far away from home but there are monsters aplenty and careless nobles with ill-trained and under-equipped soldiers. Thus plenty of work for mercenaries. Camp Gharkhund can be found right outside of town.

In charge is Ductak (Major) Irja Olgrur, a dwarven woman of advanced age with a particular fondness for sitting in the sun.

Personnel

Centak (Captain) Mairin Othmeir; tall for a dwarf, with brown hair, a trimmed beard, and a nose that has been broken many times. He stands and walks ramrod straight, almost like an automaton.

Companions of Elric

The local headquarters is one of the largest buildings in the city, it can be found on Neos Place, just outside the old city. The Companions are busier in Loveria than they should be in a country with this many natural resources. Fortunately, they managed to work out a deal with the merchant houses after the Weeks of Woe, guaranteeing a steady supply of donated goods.

They are led by Tholli Urdo, a middle-aged brooks-no-nonsense type of man with a heart of gold and an impressive butterfly collection.

Kasarian Embassy

The Kasarian army never made it to Loveria but that doesn't mean they aren't here now. Loveria hasn't been very interesting for them politically or artifact-wise, but they still have a sizeable, three story building, on Lamb Street, not far from where it crosses Poledouris Avenue.

A human woman by the name of Cerenna Ghilbor is the ambassador here; she comes across as a friendly grey-haired fifty-something lady but those who know her say she has a icy core. Her second in command is Irlon Chrontavin, a tiefling male with small horns that run up his ocher colored face on either side. It is rumored that he was posted here as a punishment for some transgression.

Abjura Dolana

The lodge on Lamb's Way is quite small, just five wizards and a few apprentices.

The Magister passed away recently and until personnel changes can be made, they are lead by Sentinel Selise Akhmelere, an older Miforan woman with a stooped back and a fondness for games of chance. Second in command is Sentinel locum tenens Delthrin Dhacrylon, a young Vildan man with a broken nose, which, he claims, was caused by a spinagon's tail.

Whitemantles

The local thieves' guild is filled with youngsters dreaming of a life as an adventurer. Who knows, it might come true for one or two.

Temples

Istus

The House of Fate is a former chandler shop on Keoa Street that was converted to become the very first temple of Istus.

A man called Vardan Brekker was one of the first to worship her and announce her presence to the world, starting services to her on Terta Square before founding a temple to her, and declaring himself Istus' high priest.

Lirr

The Pagoda of Pages is housed in what used to be Lord Zorat's mansion near beautiful Imia Park. Inside the walls are adorned with enchanting murals depicting scenes of love, literature, and artistic expression. The priests here are hard at work trying to preserve all kinds of stories but the climate isn't helping.

Gifted with prophetic dreams and a talent for interpreting visions, High Priestess Lady Mairuu Hurara is a scion of one of the original noble families.

Merchant Houses

Abraxis Combine

Located one block from Poledouris Avenue, this very modest operation is run from offices shared with a local accomptant.

In charge is a Loverian woman; Avonice Drumpf, a former realtor.

House Ditta

The largest merchant presence in town, their three-story building can be found on Poledouris Avenue.

It is run by Zdenek Honadi, a Hazan man with deep black hair, a pencil mustache, and expensive, tailored clothes. He wears a ring and necklace worth more than a house in any of the nearby villages. When talking he tends to nods a lot.

House Revol

The home office is housed in a sprawling number of buildings on Spice Way. Who is in charge depends on who you ask and what the current mood is like; though the answer will always start with the word 'Lord'. The long-suffering lady who actually keeps the business operating and in the black is originally from Dolac; Vonda Drunn.

Thal Lithel

Found in one of the oldest remaining buildings in town, near Plateia Square. The structure has changed a lot since the thal bought it, walls were removed, extensions added and works of art can now be found in every room.

Run by Iylrana Lithel, a half-elf, well known around town for the fact that she has a fox companion who can always be found at her side.

Thal Sivale

They have been augmenting their operations recently and can be found in one of the larger buildings on Vender Way.

A half-elf by the name of Orel-Findar Aerithyl runs things when he isn't out hunting.
