Abjura Dolana
A world spanning society of (predominantly) abjurers, self appointed keepers of arcane magic. Founded after the Kasarian Conflict when magic wasn't seen as something all that positive. It was felt by some that having a group of responsible people make sure that other spellcasters didn't go off the deep end by either causing wanton violence, or, gods forbid, another Collapse, would help in bringing back trust in arcane magic.
In many countries they 'police' magic users for the government. In most of the Heartland nations no one is allowed to cast arcane spells without a license bought from Abjura Dolana.
Their buildings also functions as shrines to Boccob in cities where the god has no temple.
Ascending order of rank
- Aspis

Lodges
Banak
Things are tense as both camps for and against the organization are well supported but the current Burgomeister favors the abjurers.
The Banak lodge is well staffed with around twenty wizards and plenty of apprentices. It is rumored they also have a number of spies in town, wizards who keep their actual profession and allegiance a secret.
Elyth Rheloph, an older human man with very bushy brows from Mifora has been the Magister here for over a decade, which is longer than postings normally last. There are no fewer than three Sentinels; Bhaeryta Bersk, an Otteun woman of surprising delicacy, a fair half-elf woman of unknown origin; Sirane Loriamanthor, and Idrin the Imbar, a dwarven man with great sense of humor but a terrible laugh.
Beljovac
This is likely one of the largest lodges in the world, located in two connected buildings in the Scarlet division. What all the wizards and apprentices do here is something of a mystery, though a lot of arcane spellcasters do seem to visit every day.
Miew Sunfield, the Magister, is a woman in her fifties from Dolac, who is known for her hands-on approach. She won't hesitate to stop any brawl she happens to come across and when monsters are spotted outside the city, she'll be there to root them out, more often than not. Four Sentinels report to her. Adeen Aumble is a halfling woman with a penchant for spell research. The Miforan Lertis Catham looks so much like Miew that many claim he is her son. Sendira Laenela from Sormark is a half-elf who used to be a mercenary in her younger days. Not much is known about the half-orc girl by the name of Orvaega Zorgar, but she must be some kind of prodigy, making Sentinel at her young age.
GICOM
The lodge has a close relationship with the Cathedral of Magic Arts and Summerset College, its building can be found right outside the college grounds. They coordinate the placement of Abjura Dolana mages at all major border crossings, and thus many Summerset students are posted this way for their first work experience job. The current building has become too small and some of the work has been moved over to the temple; a breach of the founding charter, but so far no one has complained.
The Magister is Serena Berringer, a woman in her sixties, originally from the city of Dunum, and a former professor at Summerset. She really likes to crochet; her office looks more like a yarn store. No less than five Sentinels are in charge of different affairs here, we'll mention the three most public facing ones. Starting with Camelia Jallisall, a peppy halfling woman who's full-time job is something called 'public relations'. Idriane Hardy, is a half-orc woman of advanced years, she coordinates 'special projects'. Zanbis Rorgudotick is a young gnome who is a sort of Jack-of-all-trades.
Ide Volcar
The Ide Volcar lodge is larger than most, having somewhere around two dozen wizards and numerous apprentices on the premises.
Their leader is a raven-haired woman of fair complexion, Magister Cara Hysel, a career magistrate who managed to land this position at the tender age of 43. She has a quite pleasant demeanor but brooks no nonsense. Most day-to-day activities fall under the supervision of Sentinel Hull Nurian, a garrulous Loverian man, and Warder Brenna Rendask, an entrancing woman from Dolac.
Korint
The lodge on Lamb's Way is quite small, just five wizards and a few apprentices.
The Magister passed away recently and until personnel changes can be made, they are lead by Sentinel Selise Akhmelere, an older Miforan woman with a stooped back and a fondness for games of chance. Second in command is Sentinel locum tenens Delthrin Dhacrylon, a young Vildan man with a broken nose, which, he claims, was caused by a spinagon's tail.
Midtal
The lodge building, a former army storehouse, can be found on Corporal Court in the Patriots ziek.
The Magister here is Catindra Eriach, a middle-aged woman with a hawk's nose and one blue and one green eye, She's a recent appointee from Dolac and has Otteun roots. Two Sentinels are posted here; Otso Galgurn, a dwarven man from Loveria with a metal leg who does most of the public facing work, and Kara Salvere, a young Miforan woman with outlandish tastes.
Stjordvik
This lodge has had to fight for relevance more than most but they have always found generous support from the local ruler. They constantly have to deal with 'those bloody bards'; exactly the kind people who are prone to casting spells willy-nilly and who hold no truck with any kind of regulatory body.
They are lead by Magister Ildool Illeon, a tall, grave Dolac man with a short, dark beard, who dresses in a quite old fashioned style. The Sentinel here is a wild young halfling woman from Loveria, Tara Macanester, who is on the verge of being dismissed just about every week.
