Ulaa (OO-lah) is depicted as a dwarven woman with gnomish facial features. She wields a mighty hammer called Skullringer.
Dogma
The hills and mountains are sacred and beautiful places, whether on the surface or within tunnels that hole them like veins. Working with ore is a blessed task, turning it into an item of purpose. Industry is where people find their purpose.
Clergy
Ulaa’s clerics live on or in the mountains, protecting them from those who would destroy them. They protect their community and teach miners and quarrymen how to spot the best places to work. They act as guides for those passing through their lands, travel to see other stony examples of the earth’s beauty.
Vestments
Upon entering the order, novitiates are given a green robe. Then, when they have completed their novitiate, their robes are a mix of brown and green, the proportion of brown increasing with their level. The high priests initially wear a completely brown robe, then a brown robe mixed with gray, the proportion of gray increasing with their level to get closer and closer to the color of the stone. It is only after having reached the rank of high priest that a Child of the Stone has the badge of honor to wear an entirely gray vestment.
Temples
The temples of Ulaa are almost always built of stone and feature all kinds tools and implements that signify hard work. The altar is usually made of metal, and often in the shape of an anvil.
Banak
The Fane of the Workers is housed in one of the warehouses under the city. A soft blue light radiates from the ceiling of the large hall and beautifully crafted columns and stone statues are randomly dispersed throughout. As befits its purpose and location, the temple is open all hours, every day of the year, services are not scheduled but there are always priests on hand when worshipers congregate.
Just last year a new Forewoman was appointed; a half-orc woman by the name of Neske Sormuzhik now leads this temple. Though there was some grumbling at the start, she quickly showed to be the best leader that anyone can remember.
Stjordvik
Sormarkers party hard but work hard as well. Thus worship of the Stonewife is quite popular here. A new temple, a large, squat building of travertine from Stennen Quarry, was built in the middle of Cyamus District not too long ago. Forewoman Reqys Laarrabisos is a shrewd gnome woman of advanced years who has run the House of Many Hands for as long as most people can remember.
