North of the Copis River and nestled between the Sarodin Sea and the Giant's Crown Mountains lies an ancient forest. Over the centuries it has resisted all types of encroachment.
It is said that all life began at the center of these woods. Nowadays the heart of the forest is bursting with an uncontrolled magic that transforms everything it comes into contact with, including the very land itself. Some sages are convinced that this is how more outlandish monsters such as owlbears have come to be.
No expeditions to the center of the woods have ever been heard from again so little is known for sure. What is certain, is that over time the magic builds up to such a degree that it can no longer be contained, and every so many years a colossal magic storm roils out from the center.
