Lirr (LIR) is usually depicted as a fresh-faced woman with dark blue eyes and long black hair. The goddess carries a tome that can show any prose, poetry, spell, or artwork ever created. Lirr gladly cooperates with all who respect love, learning, and the arts, and opposes those that would destroy love and art or hide it from others.

Dogma

Lirr teaches that the written word is the lynchpin of civilization. To her, the preservation of written works—-fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose—-is paramount, and oral works must be transcribed into written format. Art is also to be protected and revered, as pictures are often worth thousands of words.

Clergy

Lirr's priests wander the world searching for love, lore, poetry, historical tales, magic, and works of art. They sneak into lands controlled by oppressive rulers, seeking to rescue items of interest that are in danger of being destroyed out of either ignorance or malice. Many Lirrian priests train as bards, telling stories and creating works of art rather than singing. Such clerics often find work as scribes, tutors, and artists. Novice priests spend months creating copies of the local temple's archives of scrolls, books, and artwork, which are then distributed among the masses so that others may enjoy them.

Vestments

During services, priests wear white robes trimmed with silver and gold. Higher-ranking priests have more elaborate trimmings on their robes.

When adventuring, priests wear clothes or armor appropriate to the task at hand. They often wear their holy symbols on a necklace, and trim their armor with silver.

History

Some claim the hero Helea who imprisoned the escaped Primordials became Lirr but this is denied by the church who claim she became Lirr's foremost servitor and avatar.

Temples

Temples to Lirr are often large libraries, though some are more playhouses than anything else.

Beljovac

Perched on the cliffs overlooking Silazni Zmaj Bay, the Celestial Quill Monastery is a sanctuary dedicated to the Lady Poet. The architecture mirrors the elegant strokes of a quill, with graceful arches and soaring spires. At its heart lies the Prose Pavilion, a contemplative space adorned with intricately carved bookshelves and adorned with tapestries illustrating scenes of passion and scholarly pursuits.

Known for her eloquent prose and heartfelt poetry, High Priestess Selene Whisperwind uses the written word to evoke powerful emotions and convey the essence of Lirr's teachings. She organizes regular poetry readings and encourages aspiring poets to share their verses.

GICOM

The Lorekeeper's Sanctum, adorned with intricate murals that depict the intertwining of love, literature, and art, serves as a testament to the goddess's influence on the creative spirit of the city. The entrance, named the Arch of Illumination, is adorned with golden quills and paintbrushes. Within, the Luminary Library stands as the world's largest repository of knowledge, housing an extensive collection of illuminated manuscripts, poetry anthologies, and art portfolios. Among the clergy, who are often adept both in the written word and visual arts, are many sages on diverse topics.

A charismatic bard and skilled storyteller, High Priest William Cato spreads Lirr's teachings through the art of narrative. His captivating performances inspire both laughter and introspection.

Ide Volcar

The Sanctum of Understanding is four-storey building on the corner of Irati Park. At its entrance, a grand archway features a mesmerizing mural of Lirr herself, with dark blue eyes that seem to hold the wisdom of countless tales and long black hair cascading like the flowing ink of an endless quill. All its floors and the five (sub)basements are filled with books and scrolls, leaving little room for the priests who work there. They are in something of a friendly competition with Serisa Library.

High Priest Gral Serevic, a quite outspoken man who is a staple at all high society functions, is an accomplished scribe and illuminated manuscript artist.

Korint

The Pagoda of Pages is housed in what used to be Lord Zorat's mansion near beautiful Imia Park. Inside the walls are adorned with enchanting murals depicting scenes of love, literature, and artistic expression. The priests here are hard at work trying to preserve all kinds of stories but the climate isn't helping.

Gifted with prophetic dreams and a talent for interpreting visions, High Priestess Lady Mairuu Hurara is a scion of one of the original noble families.

Maern Tarathiel

The Ivory Quill Pavilion stands as a radiant tribute to the Lorekeeper. The temple's exterior is an elegant blend of marble and ivory, with intricate carvings depicting scenes of love, literature, and art that shimmer in the soft glow of enchanted lanterns. The Arch of Radiant Verse invites all into a world where creativity and divine inspiration intertwine. The Celestial Gallery showcases a stunning array of paintings, sculptures, and illuminated manuscripts. Devotees and artists gather beneath the Moonlit Cupola, a dome adorned with crystalline quills that refract the moon's gentle light.

A compassionate healer and empath, High Priestess Maera Alenuath tends to both physical and emotional wounds. She organizes therapeutic art sessions and poetry circles, using creative expression as a means to soothe troubled hearts and strengthen the bonds of love within the community.

Stjordvik

In the heart of the Miforan district, where the arts flourish and creativity thrives, the Muse's Haven stands, adorned with cascading vines and intricate murals depicting tales of love, literature, and artistic brilliance. The temple's clergy, when not removing curses or diseases from all the visiting bards, work tirelessly to transcribe all the stories brought to them. The western side of the temple contains an impressive theater with an intricate system that allows for the opening of the outer wall, giving those in attendance a view of the sea.

An expert librarian and archivist, High Priest Callum Pagebound oversees the Verse Vault within the Haven. His meticulous cataloging and preservation efforts ensure that the temple's collection remains a rich tapestry of human expression.
