This decrepit mansion about four days southwest of Korint was home to three shady characters (two covered in soot, carrying large burlap sacks, one man with a long beard wearing a white dress under a red dress). It almost came to blows but eventually they were happy to leave the party be, after being offered 15 gp.
The cellar contained a shrine to Nerull with a phrase in Dark Speech carved into it: "I am that which grips the heart in fright, hearkens night and silences the light." After translating it with the help of Velkor’s vellum and solving the riddle the shrine opened up revealing a corridor behind it. The trapped corridor led to a cave infested with giant wolf spiders.
Beyond a rickety ropebridge lay a room at the end of the cave, closed off with a large stone door over which was carved: "Curse Caluth Widows". Carved into the floor inside was a large heptagram that connected seven summon circles that started to produce grotesquely deformed human-like head with leathery, bat-like wings taking the place of ears. A tough fight ensued but eventually the party managed to stop the summoning and a smite by Liddy and a well timed sleep spell from Arosin balanced things in their favor.
A hidden compartment in the desk produced a curse when opened, affecting all party members in a different way.
The following items were found in the room:
- Ancient copper coin that makes the bearer feel nauseous - leave
