As with most capitals, Korint has a Kasarian Embassy.

The embassy is a sizeable, three story building with a large, walled yard at the back. Alleys on either side. Neighbors: an orphanage and a distillery.

Angerone's patron told her to 'liberate' a book from their vault and meets up with Wanda and 'Julian', two other warlocks who both also want their own item from the vaults. Angy had briefly met Wanda before, she's a member of the Companions. 'Julian' is new but it's likely he is behind the break in at Rock & Scroll a few weeks ago, considering the stories about the magic used there.

First they tell the embassy staff that Irlon Chrontavin sent them to ask for reinforcements at the Fallen Star. After a number of people leave they set fire to the distillery next door (after long considering doing it to the orphanage instead), drawing even more people out of the building.

The three go in and unerringly know they way to the vault. It is not unguarded however; a short battle with two ambush drakes breaks out.

In a stroke of amazing luck the key to the vault turns out to be in the door and it is swiftly opened.

Inside there are quite a few things, most with a little piece of paper with descriptive text (in a language Angy doesn't know) next to it, including these:

  • An ancient tome, slight enough to fit snugly in one hand.
  • A brutal looking spear fashioned from a single piece of onyx with supple black leather wrapped around the shaft.
  • A weathered and beaten chain forged of cold iron with a supple black leather collar attached to one end.
  • A large metal chest that seems to snarl.
  • A vial containing a thick, red-orange substance that moves inside of it.
  • A wand made of marble, topped by a tourmaline.
  • A large black diamond on a velvet pillow.
  • A small box made of lead.
  • A metal gauntlet pitted green, sized for an ogre.
  • A statue of a perched dragon.
  • A vibrant purple prism.
  • A pick-axe made of copper.
  • A blob of gel.

Angy takes the tome, and the little paper, Julian the spear, and Wanda the chain. They quickly vacate the premises but not before being spotted. However, they manage to lose their pursuers.

Later translation learn that the piece of paper reads in Draconic: "Empty book, used in rituals by the Uyots priests."
