This unglazed ceramic lidded jar with its short wide neck, wide belly, and small handles looks rather unremarkable. That is, until the head becomes visible. It is said to have been the property of a famed Miforan chef and a large part of his success.
As long as you own the Olla and are attuned to it, it has the following properties.
Garret The jar can heat up on command and retain the heat for as long as you specify. This way you can cook without using a fire. When used this way, the outside of the Olla heats up only a little, just enough to use it as a hot water bottle.
Griffin Once per day you can use an action to fill the jar to the brim with water (2 liters, if empty).
Holdwell When anything perishable is inside the Olla you can close the lid and slow down the decaying process by a factor equal to your proficiency modifier. Once the lid is opened again the normal decaying process resumes. No perishable item can benefit from this process more than once.
Clair When using any poisonous ingredients in the jar, a Cook's Utensils check DC 10 (rolled by the DM) will remove the poison.
Oof You can hard boil an egg in fifteen minutes and try to infuse it with a beneficial effect. The effect depends on a number of factors:
- The type of egg.
- The liquid boiled in; water, alcohol, blood, etc.
- The Cook's Utensils check (rolled by the DM).
- The types of spices, herbs, or other materials used. All together these should be worth at least 5 gp and are used up in the process. Every 5gp used over the initial 5 gp adds one to the Cook's Utensils check.
Once the egg is ready you will have a general idea of the type of effect the egg will have, though if the roll was very poor there might also be a detrimental effect you won’t know about. Experiment with different eggs and liquids to find out what the potential effects can be.
It takes an action to eat the egg and get the effect bestowed upon you. You can prepare a number of eggs equal to your proficiency modifier per day. Boiled eggs retain their effect for a number of weeks equal to your proficiency modifier.
Crisp Once per day, you can spend an hour to infuse a creature quality into the Olla. To do so you put (part of) a dead creature in the jar and then make a Cook's Utensils check. The exact effect imbued depends on both the creature and the check.
You can activate the effect upon yourself as an action, removing it from the Olla.
Only one effect can be present at a time; if you infuse a creature while an effect is present, it will be replaced with the new effect.
Adrenaline Rush You can take the Dash action as a Bonus Action. When you do so, you gain a number of Temporary Hit Points equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Fan As an action you can create a campfire in a 5-foot square. It can either be lit or unlit when created and has enough wood to burn for a number of hours equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You can use this ability once but can do so again when you finish a Short or Long Rest. index.php?title=Category:Items
