"Red"

This large, imposing man with hazel hair and a walrus moustache was known to people at The Dig as "Red". He was seen all over the camp, often in the kitchen but also visiting the lab and everywhere else. He slept in the same tent as the Overseer.

Red's Campfire Questions

"I miss my home city, Ide Volcar, it's called the Jewel of the North for a reason. It's the most beautiful city you could find; the terraces, the colored buildings, the cedar trees, looking out on all of it, drinking avca as the sun goes down."

Regius misses the temple of Ulaa and his forge. Liddy replies to that by mentioning her godess Beory and all the food that she provides. Hanur responds to that that she misses her mother's stew, made with love, which is at least something as her mother isn't a very good cook, the meat is always still tough, in a stew! Arosin mostly misses a comfy bed.

"What’s the first thing you are going to do when you get back to civilization? I will be visiting a bath house and not leave till closing."

Regius comments he is going to bathe in weapon oil and buy a set of armor. Liddy is planning on eating and sleeping, bathing can come third. Someone suggests she could do all three at once.

"You haven’t lived until you’ve had a plate of kazola with river oysters and spriggan’s hair. That and a few bottles of Liovy and the gods can just take me then and there."

Regius immediately mentions the boar they slew and Hanur feels it's his duty to mention his mom's stew.

"I really miss my sister, Emese, and my little peregrine falcon, Spreva. Nobody can listen as well as she."

Liddy misses her entire family, Arosin, his mom. Hanur thinks of his dad who he knew only shortly. Regius mentions his brothers and sisters at the temple of Ulaa.

"The one good thing about all this is that I stopped grinding my teeth, it was a terrible habit I just could not seem to lose."

Liddy doesn't think she has bad habits. Hanur explains that wherever he goes he just has to try the local specialty, even it is advised against. Arosin explains that he often has something in his hands to mess with or chew on something, whether edible or not, the others tell him they've noticed. Regius jokes, or so everyone assumes, that he can't stop trying to convert people.

"Those trees reminds me of a book titled ‘The Trees of Illiun’. If I had never read it I think my life would have turned out very differently, I wouldn’t be here for starters. But that book showed me that there was a world so unlike the one I grew up in, out there. I could have been some idle wastrel but instead I decided to get deeply involved in the family business and now I have seen most of this world. It’s been more than worth it, and all because of a book."

"A live without regrets is a live not lived but there is one thing I wish I could change. When we were kids, me and Varek were thick as thieves, we did everything together. And then Ania moved into town. We were both immediately smitten but the things I did to win her heart are unconscionable and I understand why he has never forgiven me."

Arosin immediately mentions not opening the trapdoor in the burial mound. Hanur says that he's still young. "You have many regrets still to make," Red agrees. Regius is sad about having to leave behind his hammer at the Dig.

"I’m not a fearful man but the undead are just not right, they scare me on such a deep level that I am powerless to resist."

Liddy agrees; zombies! Regius mentions the unfaithful, it's unclear if he is joking. Hanur has a fear of being captured and then caged. Arosin doesn't like heights.
