The altar is often made of a single block of jade (sometimes weighing several tons) and a deep pool of sea water is usually placed in front of it. Osprem (AH-sprem) is often depicted as a beautiful woman in a flowing gown, or as a dolphin, barracuda, or sperm whale. In human form, she wears a ring carved from a whale's tooth, a gift from the grandfather of all whales.

Dogma

The seas provide a bounty of food and a means of travel; protect the sea as you would your own home, or face Osprem's wrath. Respect her and abide by her laws.
