Organized every spring, this sailing ship race has been a great success ever since its inception. When looking for a complement to their grand Autumn Leaves feast one of the members remembered the homeland regattas of his youth and his suggestion was met with much acclaim. While the race is very popular among the populace, the evening ball is a veritable who’s who of Stjordvik society and is the place to network for merchants, diplomats, and anyone in between.

From the first year on, the race has been open to everyone. Of course, it’s not cheap to compete, so usually only those with money take part; merchant houses and other organizations. [[Strebor's Corsairs]] have tried to enter but since it’s the Baron that hands out the prizes this was swiftly nipped in the bud.

Most organizations don’t have their own ships but this is easily solved by hiring one specifically for the race. For the duration of the event ships are renamed to whatever the competitor (and organizer) deems appropriate. The rules stipulate that at least 25% of the crew need to be employees of the competitor so as to make the race more interesting.

Through an elaborate system of both magic and semaphores the ship positions in the race are signaled to shore and displayed on large boards for all the people to see. Color commentary is added by salty seadogs and copious amounts of alcohol do the rest. Maybe due to the unpredictable results each year, betting on the outcome is quite fierce.

This organization from the heartlands is where artists and gourmands congregate to exchange ideas and critique each other's creations. Membership is by invitation only; which comes with its own problems.

Most organize a yearly 'grand feast' and smaller monthly gatherings usually open to the public, often for a fee, but this is all up to the local chapters.

Chapters

Avale

While Dolac food is nothing to write home about in most cases, there is a hardcore group of enthusiasts within this chapter that tries to celebrate the best of the country whenever given the chance. The other members are much more enchanted with foreign food and so there is a friendly competition between the two.

Meetings are held at the Scarlet Bonnet, the bi-weekly Sampler's Surprise is so popular that even though it's anything but cheap, there is a long waiting list.

Banak

While the local food is nothing to write home about, the best chefs can create masterpieces even with very limited resources. And Otteun is not too far away, so quite some good food gets imported for those with the means to afford it. The chapter is mostly known for its master sculptors, their pieces have been sold as far away as Haza. Meetings are usually held at Lordraerra House, the city's most exclusive inn.

Beljovac

GICOM

Having the gorgeous Ancee Museum as their meeting place has only spurred them on to greater and greater heights. With typical GICOM modesty they profess their chapter to be the zenith of good taste. While that might be hard to stomach, it is hard to argue that the food at these gatherings isn't the best in the world,

The appreciation for art here goes wider than in most chapters; beyond the to be expected visual arts there is also a deep appreciation for fine fashion and the kinesthetic arts.

Ide Volcar

With so many excellent restaurants in town, the chapter doesn't have a set meeting place, they select a new eatery every time, competition to be so honored is fierce. At these gatherings there is always a fine arts contest attached, with the grand prize being a yearly stipend for the winner. A tradition is for the winner to create small objets d'art for all members, to be handed out at a next gathering.

Midtal

The Otteun are not necessarily known for their great appreciation of art or their refined cuisine. But that is not to say there aren't any connoisseurs among them, the chapter here is quite sizeable and their feasts very popular. Meetings are usually held at the Exchange of the Gods, the large covered market. They are well known for their monthly Festival of Fruits where whichever fruit is in season is celebrated with outlandish creations.

Stjordvik

The chapter is housed at Norbana’s, the city’s most laurelled restaurant and art gallery. Their monthly 'Taster Feasts' are known for being some of the largest attended events in, probably, the world. Anyone with any culinary panache takes part and tries to out-do the competition, to the delight of those paying the reasonable entrance fee. They organize two large events; the Autumn Leaves Festival and the Annual Stjordvik Regatta & Ball.
