This yearly, five-day festival has always been associated with Olidammara though his priests deny any direct involvement. Regardless, it is celebrated predominantly in places where worship of the Laughing God is common.

During the feast all revelers are to wear a mask and give a small gift and a confession to a random stranger. There are a different masks and each type of mask is associated with a particular type of confession.

It is up to the individual reveler how involved they want to get, some give just a small present and a single confession on the first day and leave it at that, whereas others go all out and give larger presents and quite significant confessions every single day of the festival. Giving the same confession every day is quite common and completely accepted. Wearing a different mask every day is more divisive; in certain locales it is considered not done, though the clergy of Olidammara encourage the practice.

What to do with received confessions is something that remains unclear to this day; many people keep them private while others read them out loud around the table in their homes or at a tavern, in the evening.

In most places stage plays revolving around the different masks are performed. Carnival-type games are also commonly seen during this week.

Some people also see the feast as an excuse to behave inappropriately behind the anonymity of their mask but this is certainly not intended.
