This ancient looking amulet is made of a single rhombus of an unknown mineral. When held, the item shares its name and properties. It requires the solving of a riddle before letting anyone attune to it. Riddle: In daylight, my gray cloak flies high. At night, you huddle by my side. I destroy, I dance; I forge swords, I eat plants.

As long as you wear the First Sigil of Baltur and are attuned to it, it has the following properties.

Arcane Apprentice When making an Arcana skill test you can use your Reaction to add 1d4 to the result, this does not stack with the Guidance spell. Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Short Rest.

Caress of Cania When you take Fire damage, you can use your Reaction to reduce the damage by 1d4 (to a minimum of 0). Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Short Rest.

Eruption of Blades As an Action you can create a momentary circle of spectral blades that sweep around you. All other creatures within 5’ of you must succeed on a Dexterity save or take 2d6 Force damage. Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Long Rest.

At some point the item acquired a quirk:

Cania’s Craving Any spell attack that does Fire damage targeted at a creature within 15 feet of you will attack you instead of the intended target, if you are within range of the spell.
