This item was made in [[Baltur]].

''This ancient looking amulet is made of fused obsidian and marlstone, two holes allow for a simple cord to be looped through.''

When held, the item shares its name and properties. It requires the solving of a riddle before letting anyone attune to it.

Riddle: One is to three as three is to five and five is to four and four is the magic number. Why?

As long as you wear the Second Sigil of Baltur and are attuned to it, it has the following properties.

'''Due Diligence''' When you fail a saving throw against a spell that is on your spell list and of a level you can cast, you can use your Reaction to add 1d4 to the result. Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Long Rest.

'''Expected Earnings''' When you make a check with any [https://5e.tools/book.html#phb,5,tools,0 Tools], you may add 1d4 to the roll after seeing the result but before learning whether the check succeeds. Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Short Rest.

'''Fail Forward''' As a Reaction, which you take when you fail to hit with a spell attack from a cantrip you cast at a single creature, you can redirect the dart towards another creature within 15 feet of the original target. Make another ranged spell attack. On a hit, the new target takes half of the damage rolled but no other effects that come with the cantrip used. Once used, this property can’t be used again until after a Short Rest.

At some point the item acquired a quirk:

'''Frantic Fumble''' When you roll a 1 on a D20 Test you have Disadvantage on the next D20 Test you make until the end of your next turn.
