Name: Maybell Tuberosum
Age: About halfway in her 20s, she's not sure, but 7 is a fun number to say, so 27
Race: Halfling

Maybell's origins
Maybell's life
Maybell was born in a nomadic halfling community, following the path of the Gloamin river between the mountains and the Sarodin Sea, based on the seasons. Her parents were some of the better cooks of the tribe. Maybell used to help them out a lot, when she wasn’t daydreaming or listening to the elders, telling stories. Later, she relayed those stories for the smaller kids, who she used to watch over and play with. Maybell got along very well with the kids, being very child-like herself. Around the time of Maybell getting to adulthood, she was on a crossroad of keep living like she was, or growing up and take responsibility. Not too long after becoming an adult, while the community was in their semi-permanent camp in the woods, she decided to stop believing in fairytales about the Feywild and their creatures. Allowing herself one last daydream while gathering herbs and mushrooms, a pretty cat came on her path. The cat was very friendly towards Maybell and seemed to want to play, so Maybell followed the kitty.
The cat, named Sprinkles by Maybell, lead her to the Feywild, without Maybell noticing right away. Maybell and Sprinkles played together for a long time, many days were spent playing, napping and exploring. Throughout the Feywild Maybell found that things were different from home, including sprinkles. It was easier to talk to most of the animals, plants normally edible had different, stronger, effects on the body. Eating red apples was out of the question, beans could have a lot of different effects, peas grew under the mattresses of princesses, pumpkins could suddenly sprout charriots and candy was suitable building material for the houses of hags. One of the safer plants to eat was rampion, which only made hair grow faster. While it was clear that quite some time has passed, at least a few days, how much was very much unclear, seeing how the Feywild is in a permanent state of twilight. After what felt like maybe a week, Maybell talked with Sprinkles about it being time to go back.
While able to navigate parts of the Feywild quite well, the route to the Material Plane was harder for Maybell to find on her own. She was able when focusing hard to find pieces of what she remembered. It slightly looked boring, but in a calming, relaxing way. She still needed Sprinkles help to get out, not to mention the attachment between the two, making them want to stay together. While getting back to the camp she’d left, Maybell noticed that the seasons had changed, so the others must have moved on. When they found the camp, however, the semi-permanent houses that were normally quick to make homely were largely in a state of disrepair. “There must have been a storm that demolished it! Good thing we are a nomadic tribe and moved on.” In the end, in stead of tracking her family right away, Maybell and Sprinkles went on their way looking for new friends, feeling changed by the experience. She knows all about the surrounding and the people found there. Over the next few years they traveled between the Feywild and Material Plane, mostly thanks to Sprinkles’ ability to find the way. Through this she was able to learn about Fay-magic and meet nice people, like the current party.

What happened in the meantime
For a long time the community looked for Maybell, while they would normally spent the summers by the lake, a lot of them stayed behind, looking for her instead. They kept making the same travels between the mountains and the sea, though lots skipped their stop in the forests. While most gotten the mourning out of the way, it could still be too heavy to be in that same place. Others were afraid of children and young adults being spirited away. With time, the tribe fell apart, some staying in the mountains or near the Sardonin Sea, others finding themselves going to bigger cities.

Sprinkles' perpective
Throughout the Feywild there is a legend that power comes from the believe of creatures in the Material Plane in what does/doesn’t happen there. The older the believer is, the more powerful the magic they create is. If someone like that is found, creatures from the Feywild will try their best to keep it that way. An animal with a compatible personality is often picked to show them their doubt is for naught. Some of these are ‘invited’ to come over to the Feywild. The inherit magic and the magic created by those individuals might mix and give those individuals magical abilities. For this, a significant amount of time must be spent in the Feywild at once. How long this is will differ based on the magic fields and time will run at different speeds in the different planes, resulting in people coming back way older or after many years, hardly looking a day older then when they left.
Sprinkles was appointed to befriend Maybell, happening very quickly. They spent 3 weeks playing in the Feywild, Sprinkles showing Maybell as much wonders as possible. They spend way longer than planned there, resulting in the time going at almost ten years in the Material Plane for each day in the Feywild. Sprinkles knows this, but can’t find it in herself to tell Maybell that everyone she loved has passed away.

Present day Maybell
While Maybell isn’t the smartest and can be very naïve and unseeing, even she could see that things changed and years have gone by (though she doesn’t know how many). She’s afraid that if she was to look up her parents, she’d make things worse for them, scaring them and scared of how much they would have aged. She suppresses those emotions by only looking at the good parts in life, enjoying the wonders in it. Together with suppressing those emotions, Maybell turns her back on acting like an adult, since that would mean facing how she abandoned her parents.

She is a cleric of Istus with the knowledge domain. Because of her past she has a deep distrust of elves and doesn’t really like others she doesn’t know either. She has a believe that she has to help the people around her survive and has to make the world a better place.

Life in Lantres
Marinda was born and raised in Lantres. From a young age, she helped spin goat wool and became a seamstress later on. She owned a shop where she sold her garments, supplies and some leather armour. Her house, where she lives alone, is above the shop. She owns a few goats and a beehive in the backyard.

She lives next to her sister, Petunia, and brother in law, Marshall, who work in the smithy and live above it. She works together with them to make armour.

Time of the elves
With the Elves expanding their territory, a delegation of them came to Lantres to take produce and other things they needed and wanted. Their inhuman beauty and manipulation techniques worked relatively well on the residents of Lantres. More and more residents grew unhappy, they wouldn’t dare to stand up to the elves. Marinda, together with Marshall, hid away a number of weapons and tools to be used as weapons, as well as some armour. These helped tremendously with grouping people into a militia and driving off elves.

After a battle where both sides felt they were losing too much forces they decided on settling with a fight between the ‘queen bees’. Marinda challenged the officer for a one-on-one fight. After a harsh battle that could go both ways, Marinda came out on top and sent the rest of the elves back to where they came from. After rebuilding what was lost, life in Lantres went on, though the story of the battle was talked about for years after.

Call from divinity
One day while spinning fleece into thread, the thread broke. Marinda was quite surprised this happened, since it hadn’t happened since she was young. The spindle had three loose thread-ends sticking out resembling Istus’ symbol (though Marinda didn’t know this yet). Istus related to Marinda how she was needed for something bigger. For this, the first step was going to Korint. It was a long way away, so she asked Petunia and her niece to look after her shop and her animals. Not knowing what to expect, Marinda took the armour she made for herself during the elven ambush.

When landed in Korint, Marinda quickly found her way to Vardan and the temple. She lived there for the time being, cleaning, creating patches of Istus’ symbol and helping around the place. When the party was sent off to the sky-stone, she was sent after them when it came to Vardan’s attention that a group of the Kasarian Embassy, including Irlon Chrontavin, was after them. After meeting the party, it was quite clear to Marinda that this was part of the something bigger.

Letters to Vardan
While travelling with the party, Marinda will report to Vardan about their, most importantly Angerone's, escapades. (Certain details that are important for the letter, but unimportant for the players are within square brackets([]))

Letter 1
Troubles in [Bordercity], we escaped. Found a camp of friendly people that disappeared. Helped people of Bjarnheim, spread the word of Istus there. Angie didn’t get into much trouble. Banished ghosts on a ship in the hills close to [city we are in]. They have a cult of Ancev, a new god, here.

Lantres is a little city (more like a town) in the mountains north, north-east of Firlanear. Their most important resources consist of mines, mountain herbs and goat-products. With the exception of traders, the people of Lantres keep to themselves and don’t come down to the rest of the world very often. They are not particularly hospitable to people from outside, however. Humans and orcs live peacefully alongside each other since the orcs have accepted their new god, Ulaa.

Around 15 years ago, the settlement was overrun by a group of elves. The elves, wanting for resources for trade, manipulated their way to take what they wanted, leaving the people of Lantres without income and produce. A small group of people, rallied by Marinda Winterwies, stood up against the oppression. Armed with what could be found around the elves were driven out, luckily with little actual bloodshed. With a last standoff between Marinda and the head of the elves, they were banished back to their forests. Ever since, a small force is trained to keep elves and other people wanting to take advantage away.
